Tom
Fish, Mardy's father, will be running the New York
City Marathon to raise money for the Mardy Fish
Children's Foundation!
BENEFITING: MARDY FISH FOUNDATION INC
EVENT DATE: Nov 01, 2015
When former U.S. #1 Tennis Professional Mardy Fish
picked up his first tennis racquet, his father Tom
Fish was right by his side, using tennis as a means
to show Mardy a way to accomplish great things. Now,
as Mardy wraps up his career at this year’s US Open
in NYC, Tom will be with him, honoring his son’s
accomplishments, and setting the stage to accomplish
even more important things in their future. And what
better way to honor Mardy's accomplishments than to
offer other children the opportunity to recognize
their own potential to accomplish great things?
MFCF uses health and fitness programs to teach the
same important lesson Tom taught Mardy all those
years ago when Mardy picked up that first racquet –
that every child has potential for greatness. Mardy
and Tom are honored to celebrate their
accomplishments by helping children discover the
greatness in themselves.
You can help Tom honor Mardy by pledging your
support to Tom’s NYC Marathon run. In doing so, you
help Mardy and Tom make important and lasting
differences in the lives of others. Discover your
own potential to be great by helping another child
discover their own. Visit
mffkids.org to learn more. No donation is too
small.

Mardy
wants to thank everyone for all
their support and encouragement.
It is greatly appreciated.
Nearly
19 months since he last competed on
the ATP World Tour, Mardy Fish is
back. For Fish, adversity wasn’t a
challenge to overcome to resume his
career. It was necessary to survive.
This is not a story about a comeback
from injury. It is not a tale of a
former Top 10 player’s quest to
resurrect a once-thriving career.
No, this narrative runs much deeper.
This is a story of reclaiming a
life; a player’s road to personal
triumph where others may have
surrendered.

The Mardy Fish Children's Foundation
works to provide children access to
after-school fitness, nutritional
and enrichment programs to prepare
them for healthy, productive and
successful lives.
Founded by Mardy Fish, the former #
7 tennis player in the World, the
Mardy Fish Children's Foundation
kept open the doors of Pelican
Island Elementary School in the Fall
of 2007 providing several enrichment
and tennis programs. These programs
provided a safe environment for
children to go and participate in
such activities as music, dance, art
and sports. The Foundation has since
grown to 15 elementary schools and 4
middle schools currently serving
over 2,500 children in K-8th Grade.

Mardy's Kids
on Courts
The Mardy Fish
Foundation has
created Kids on
Courts, a "learn by
immersion", age and
skill-based tennis
development program
especially designed
for junior tennis
players. The program
teaches juniors
(ages 7-12) of all
abilities the skills
for playing
competitive tennis
matches. The Mardy
Fish Foundation is
excited to have Mike
Rahaley head Kids on
Courts as program
director.

Each junior will
play tennis matches
immediately on the
first day against
players of similar
skill levels. The
match results will
be recorded and will
determine the
schedule of matches
for the following
week. Every level of
player will be
challenged. As the
program develops,
players will be
placed on teams
which give juniors
the concept of team
participation along
with individual
rankings. What's
great about this is
that there is no
bench time! There
are only a few
sports that are life
long that can offer
these benefits.
The benefits for
junior players are
many. According to
Mike Rahaley, the
program "Teaches
kids to thrive
individually in a
match situation and
helps them build
confidence and a
positive
self-image."
Mardy Fish
Foundation Kids on
Courts gives juniors
a sport they can
play their whole
lives. They will
learn how to be
gracious when
learning (i.e.
losing) and when
they win. They will
develop skills to
compete and think on
the court. They will
forge new
friendships. Playing
tennis is great for
your health, too.
Most importantly,
they will have fun!
